Eating fruits just before bed causes spike in blood sugar levels and thus in energy. It’s the time when your body should be getting slow down and going a rest mode. But snacking a bowl of fruits thinking, it will help your body to function optimally may turn to prove upside down by increasing your energy levels at night especially, when you and your body is supposed to rest down, thereby hindering your sleep and blood sugar levels little dramatically.

In fact, if you have already some digestive issues like irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease or fructose malabsorption then, beware of eating fruit just before bed as it can be more problematic for you at night. Eating fruits right before your bedtime may lead you to an upset stomach and disrupted sleep, leaving you to feel sluggish for the next morning due to the natural high sugar content. Moreover, if you are the one who suffers from acid reflux, eating fruit just before going to bed can probably spell disaster to your expected sound sleep. High acidic fruits such as oranges and pineapples are perhaps, often seen to be problematic for people with acid reflux and so are advised to avoid eating them especially just before bed.

Hence, the fruits advisable to include in your balance diet laden with umpteen vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, and antioxidants better should be left alone while going to sleep.
